Unlike Avril Lavigne, 90210 stars Shenae Grimes and Jennie Garth don't mind when things get complicated.
In fact, both actresses told TV Guide that they'd embrace the chance for their characters' lives to get a bit messier.
"I would love to see Kelly — the real side of her," said Garth, who added that Kelly is a bit too perfect. "I would like to see her raising her son by herself and the comedy that comes out of that, and the heartache. There's a lot more that goes on that the audience isn't getting to see, I think."
Grimes agreed her character of Annie can handle more difficulties, too.
"I want her to have some fun," the 19-year-old actress said. "I want her to get in some trouble, I want her to have some fights and heartbreak and I want her to experience everything that a teenager should experience."
Overall, Grimes said the new 90210 is yet to deal with real life issues.
"There hasn't been that much real suffering on our show. I think suffering comes from drama or bad things that happen because of bad intentions. And usually on our show the drama that is inflicted upon people doesn't come from a negative place. I think pain does come, but there are so many loved ones around, everybody on the show to bring them up, which is hopefully the case for everybody."
As previously reported, Matt Lanter will soon join the cast of 90210. What's in store for his character of Liam?
Star AnnaLynne McCord told E! Online that she's likely to be the first to get in on this new action.
"He is the bad boy and Naomi starts to love herself some bad boy…He just throws her so off her Naomi world and off its axis, that it kind of intrigues her, so she feels challenged. He gets her into trouble."
It also looks like Shenae Grimes may also get into the mix, rekindling her character's feud with Naomi:
"I feel like there's going to be a triangle somewhere there and I wouldn't complain if I was apart of said triangle," said Grimes.
As for Josh Henderson, will Sean return to 90210?
The supposedly long lost Wilson child might not be finished with Beverly Hills just yet.
"I don't think he's done by any means. There are still things up in the air where I might be the son. It's worth watching, I'll just say that. My guy's still bouncing back and forth," Henderson said.
One significant couple on 90210 is headed for a fall, while another may have a bright future after all.

Is this really it for Dixon and Silver?
BrendaLova: No. Silver may act self-centered sometimes (okay, ALL the time), but she has a good heart. She'll apologize to Dixon and all will be right again in their dating world.
The Real McKay: I sure hope so. As I said in my last Round Table, I think Silver has become one of the worst characters on TV. She's just plain mean. She has yet to apologize to our poor man Dixon. Anyone else notice she never even apologized to Ryan or even thank him for letting her back in the class? Teach that girl some manners... and then feed her a cheeseburger.
Wild4Wilds: No way. Have you ever heard of a high school relationship that was over with one break up?!?
Will Ty responsibly fulfill his role as Adrianna's baby daddy?
The Real McKay: As in, will he cut checks for child support? Absolutely. Will he at all help raise the freakishly tall baby? God no.
Wild4Wilds: He won't want to, but give the guy credit for one thing: dude can seriously act! He'll at least pretend to be there for his son/daughter.
BrendaLova: He won't need to. I'm sticking to the prediction that Adrianna gives her baby to Brenda.
